INTRODUCTION

For the modern International Military Report, I use an application from the region of Texas that I find to be superior to the old application at NSEconomy. Thanks a bunch Texas! Link for their app is right here. More helpful links can be found in the stickied thread by Panzersharkcat on these forums.

Since the addition of the formula, there is a clear, numerical way to determine military power. As a result, I'm going to put a plus or minus after each person's gross military score to show whether their military power increased or decreased over the last month.

This month, I added (mostly for my own use, but you may use it as well) the text form of the formula so that I can copy/paste it instead of having to recreate it from the image each time I make this report!

Oldest reports can be found on the old forums.

DATA LISTS

Defense Spending
Defense spending is important to military strength for an obvious reason: if you're not spending any money on your army, you don't have a very well trained army, or a very well equipped army (Note that per-soldier spending is important here as well.). As far as you're concerned, remember this formula: More military spending = stronger military.

- 1) Rutianas: $188,002,470,346,629.00 (+ $5,926,144,552,473.00)
- 2) Selathorn: $86,821,158,997,754.20 (+ $3,314,971,121,885.30)
- 3) Hispania Ulterior: $49,694,403,651,797.30 (+ $6,255,950,163,127.00)
- 4) Burnination: $31,908,787,057,728.00 (- $938,237,928,390.50)
- 5) Panzersharkcat: $31,465,606,446,545.10 (+ $592,177,655,139.90)
- 6) Bastian Dominion: $387,230,765,875.20 (+ $70,514,244,403.20)

Economic Strength - (Relative ratings determined based on data given.)
This one was added for a little more complicated reason. Firstly, if you have a more powerful economy, your nation is better equipped to weather a prolonged war without collapsing. Also, more industries means that you can produce more weapons during a war, and may be more difficult to strategically bomb.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: GDP Per Capita $46,915.60, Currency = $2.0161 (Economic Improvement)
^2) Selathorn: GDP Per Capita $43,689.04, Currency = $1.9455 (Economic Improvement)
V3) Burnination: GDP Per Capita $41,518.58, Currency = $1.8966 (Economic Regress)
- 4) Rutianas: GDP Per Capita $32,241.54, Currency = $1.6713 (Economy Stagnant)
- 5) Hispania Ulterior: GDP Per Capita $27,831.34, Currency = $1.5528 (Economic Regress)
- 6) Bastian Dominion: GDP Per Capita $7,446.98, Currency < $0.4 (Economic Regress)

Population; -->(IN MILLIONS)<--
This is included for another simple reason. Population matters. Nations can be powerful just because of sheer numbers. Real world example: China.

- 1) Hispania Ulterior: 13917
- 2) Panzersharkcat: 10202
- 3) Rutianas: 8568
- 4) Burnination: 7525
- 5) Selathorn: 5089
- 6) Bastian Dominion: 972

OVERALL RANKINGS

This list is essentially my interpretation of all the previous lists. I created a formula to plug the numbers above into to eliminate any subjectivity. Here is the formula for the raw scores:
International Military Report (FT) - April 2012 Milscore
If you're interested, you can plug it into your Linux style computer calculator or Google search bar like this:
Sqrt((((Sqrt(Spending)/1000000))*((Pop*GDPCap)/1000)))
Please note that the scores given by this formula are objective, but they are not absolutely the final word. If you feel that the rankings are skewed, say so!

Format:
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description

61.5443949764 (+) - 10.00: Rutianas
You know what would be interesting? If somehow the Rutians achieved ZERO spending in one month. All this having over 100 trillion all the time must get tiring eventually!
52.253663342 (+) - 8.49: Hispania Ulterior (VP)
Um, apparently this is Veridia Prime wearing one of those glasses that include a nose and fake mustache for disguise. WELL I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! In all seriousness though, this is a VERY solid power, easily only second to the Rutians. Its lagging statistic is its economy, so it would underperform in a protracted conflict. As such, I can see the Rheans in coalition with pretty much anyone or even the Selathorni in coalition with the Burninites handily defeating this one here just out of sheer economics.
51.815575207 (+) - 8.42: Panzersharkcat
Rises slowly but inexorably. It's like ... hmm, the metaphor section of my brain seems to be broken right now. Pick a super hero that rises slowly but inexorably and pretend that's how I finished this comment.
45.515453173 (+) - 7.40: Selathorn
Now officially one of the most powerful nations in Korel -- the moral of the story is, it doesn't matter how small you are.
42.009941024 (-) - 6.83: Burnination
Since being surpassed by Selathorn and a fall in economic strength (which I call is unfair; there's no such thing as "excessive" civil rights, and that should affect the economy positively anyway!), as well as including IC events that have recently occurred, Burnination is a second-rate power at best in terms of military potential.
2.122343571 (+) - 0.34 Bastion Dominion
Who?

OK, here are our military score to population (in billions) ratios, just for show:

Rutianas: 7.18305263

Also, considering I began with a Psychotic Dictatorship with 100% taxes and spending allocated in all of the wrong places, I think I deserve a pat on the back Razz

I try, unless the answers don't fit the IC solutions that the government would come up with. Then I go for the best in terms of stats Razz
