INTRODUCTION

For the modern International Military Report, I use an application from the region of Texas that I find to be superior to the old application at NSEconomy. Thanks a bunch Texas! Link for their app is right here. More helpful links can be found in the stickied thread by Panzersharkcat on these forums.

Note to those of you who want me to add you to the report: PM me, and I will! Blah blah blah, don't be inactive and on my report.

Since the addition of the formula, there is a clear, numerical way to determine military power. As a result, I'm going to put a plus or minus after each person's gross military score to show whether their military power increased or decreased over the last month.

Oldest reports can be found on the old forums.

DATA LISTS

Level of Military Technology

Tech levels are important in the military. A bunch of dudes with clubs are going to lose to the army equipped with laser pistols, especially if the group with laser pistols blows the other group's planet up.

Rutianas - Future Tech + Super Weapon (X2)
Panzersharkcat - Future Tech + Super Weapon
Burnination - Future Tech + Super Weapon
Selathorn - Future Tech + Super Weapon
Shakuhou: Future Tech
Aescentia - Future Tech

Defense Spending
Defense spending is important to military strength for an obvious reason: if you're not spending any money on your army, you don't have a very well trained army, or a very well equipped army (Note that per-soldier spending is important here as well.). As far as you're concerned, remember this formula: More military spending = stronger military.

- 1) Rutianas: $120,856,363,826,685.00 (+ $435,057,111,271)
- 2) Burnination: $41,872,281,141,115.60 (- $2,263,027,379,782.40)
- 3) Selathorn: $24,230,784,565,532.20 (+ $1,396,534,739,181.20)
- 4) Panzersharkcat: $17,822,368,331,183.40 (+ $6,135,087,618,740.40)
- 5) Aescentia: $3,277,762,180,867.68 (+ $210,512,089,408.96)
- 6) Shakuhou: $1,422,130,249,491.84 (+ $105,368,488,219.01)

Economic Strength - (Relative ratings determined based on data given.)
This one was added for a little more complicated reason. Firstly, if you have a more powerful economy, your nation is better equipped to weather a prolonged war without collapsing. Also, more industries means that you can produce more weapons during a war, and may be more difficult to strategically bomb.

^ 1) Panzersharkcat: GDP Per Capita $47,852.80, Trade = DEFICIT $431,974,838,932.74, Currency = 2.0361 (Economic Improvement)
V 2) Selathorn: GDP Per Capita $44,651.11, Trade = DEFICIT $212,622,980,357.18, Currency = $1.9668 (Economic Improvement)
V 3) Burnination: GDP Per Capita $41,269.52, Trade = DEFICIT $65,909,334,665.34, Currency = $1.8909 (Economic Regress)
- 4) Rutianas: GDP Per Capita $30,675.26, Trade = SURPLUS $3,040,380,372,635.45, Currency = $1.6302 (Economic Regress)
- 5) Aescentia: GDP Per Capita $22,407.63, Trade = DEFICIT $385,784,006,177.06, Currency = $1.0532 (Slight Economic Regress)
- 6) Shakuhou: GDP Per Capita $4,217.17, Trade = DEFICIT $21,931,168,316.27, Currency = $0.2285 (Economic Regress)

Population; -->(IN MILLIONS)<--
This is included for another simple reason. Population matters. Nations can be powerful just on sheer numbers. Real world example: China.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: 7816
- 2) Rutianas: 6196
- 3) Burnination: 5146
- 4) Selathorn: 2672
- 5) Aescentia: 2211
- 6) Shakuhou: 2065

OVERALL RANKINGS

This list is essentially my interpretation of all the previous lists. I created a formula to plug the numbers above into to eliminate any subjectivity. Here is the formula for the raw scores:
International Military Report (FT) - March 2011 Milscore
Please note that the scores given by this formula are objective, but they are not absolutely the final word. If you feel that the rankings are skewed, say so!

Format:
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description

45.7106305 (-) - 10.0: Rutianas
Negligible change in military spending is negligible. Rutianas still has a relatively low GDP Per Capita compared to the other well-developed nations. This is the Rutians' only lagging statistic, but if it keep lagging, it could begin to show on their gross score.
39.7362891 (+) - 8.69: Panzersharkcat
Economy, fixed. Military spending dramatically rose. Panzersharkcat is finally done losing ground to Burnination. In fact, place taken.
37.07074 (-) - 8.11: Burnination
Slight drops across the board. Increase in population limits the damage, but Burnination still lost ground to the other nations. In regard to Panzersharkcat passing Burnination in gross score, just like they passed us last time, I still think that Burnination is stronger. For all of the aforementioned reasons.
24.2340626 (+) - 5.30: Selathorn
Lost top economic position, but still has an excellent economy and a commendable military spending for such a small population.
9.47080061 (+) - 2.07: Aescentia
Still tiny growth in military spending. This will work for Aescentia over the long term if they can keep it up. However, they do need to pull their economy out of that ditch it seems to be stuck in.
3.22259275 (+) - 0.705: Shakuhou
Two words: Economy. The second word is the same as the first.

Overtaking Sela's defense budget is next on list. Baby steps to recovery as contender for top dog of the galaxy.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, I decided to find out what my score would be if I had Rut's, Burn's, or Sela's defense budgets. This so I could see what my budget would have to be to match Rutianas' current raw score.

Rutianas-sized budget: 64.1229263
Burnination-sized budget: 49.19575251
Selathorn-sized budget: 42.90795552

Yeah, you have the advantage of having a much larger population, and a very good economy.

NOTE: I left this here for the LOL effect of having put it here in the first place.

Brian doesn't want it, but promptly sits down. This was yet another fight where he took the brunt of the damage.
