INTRODUCTION

We're back after a short interruption for my lifeguarding job at camp Razz. Also special thanks to Sela for doing some subtraction for me Smile.

For the modern International Military Report, I use an application from the region of Texas that I find to be awesome. Thanks a bunch Texas! Link for their app is right here. More helpful links can be found in the stickied thread by Panzersharkcat on these forums.

Since the addition of the formula, there is a clear, numerical way to determine military power. As a result, I'm going to put a plus or minus after each person's gross military score to show whether their military power increased or decreased over the last month.

The PLEASE READ SECTION:

Guys, please tell Panzer to put your nation in the convenient links page if you are not already there for me so that I don't have to remember to add you to the list in the future. These things are monsters to write! And I believe that this is the most nations I have ever included, so.

Also, discuss doing change in percent instead of numbers. Would this be more meaningful?

DATA LISTS

Defense Spending
Defense spending is important to military strength for an obvious reason: if you're not spending any money on your army, you don't have a very well trained army, or a very well equipped army (Note that per-soldier spending is important here as well.). As far as you're concerned, remember this formula: More military spending = stronger military.

- 1) Rutianas: $193,148,789,464,358.00 (- $4,957,231,777,498.00)
- 2) Selathorn: $103,917,936,627,806.00 (+ $7,191,905,441,319.00)
^3) Hispania Ulterior: $46,889,736,381,337.50 (+ $27,463,160,003,426.00)
V4) Burnination: $45,712,030,560,279.60 (+ $2,886,529,784,560.10)
- 5) Panzersharkcat: $35,254,592,886,487.30 (+ $1,972,195,783,054.90)
V6) Sacae: $34,535,422,502,217.50 (+ $7,891,000,800,199.80)
- 7) Bastian Dominion: $588,200,959,180.80 (+ $987,684,690,117.60)

Economic Strength - (Relative ratings determined based on data given.)
This one was added for a little more complicated reason. Firstly, if you have a more powerful economy, your nation is better equipped to weather a prolonged war without collapsing. Also, more industries means that you can produce more weapons during a war, and may be more difficult to strategically bomb.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: GDP Per Capita $47,886.13, Currency = $2.0368 (Economic Growth)
- 2) Burnination: GDP Per Capita $44,992.67, Currency = $1.9743 (Economic Regress)
- 3) Selathorn: GDP Per Capita $43,691.25, Currency = $1.9455 (Economy Stagnant)
- 4) Sacae: GDP Per Capita $39,045.92, Currency = $1.8392 (Economic Growth)
^5) Hispania Ulterior: GDP Per Capita $31,652.73, Currency = $1.5331(Economic Growth)
V6) Rutianas: GDP Per Capita $29,634.71 Currency = $1.6023 (Economic Regress)
- 7) Bastian Dominion: GDP Per Capita $15,513.07, Currency < $1 (Economic Growth)

Population; -->(IN MILLIONS)<--
This is included for another simple reason. Population matters. Nations can be powerful just because of sheer numbers. Real world example: China.

- 1) Hispania Ulterior: 14810
- 2) Panzersharkcat: 11121
- 3) Rutianas: 9487
- 4) Burnination: 8435
- 5) Selathorn: 5992
- 6) Sacae: 3526
- 7) Bastian Dominion: 1863

OVERALL RANKINGS

This list is essentially my interpretation of all the previous lists. I created a formula to plug the numbers above into to eliminate any subjectivity. Here is the formula for the raw scores:
International Military Report (FT) - September 2012 Milscore
If you're interested, you can plug it into your Linux style computer calculator or Google search bar like this:
Sqrt( (Sqrt(Spend)/1000000) * ((PopInTril*GDPPerCap)/1000) )
Please note that the scores given by this formula are objective, but they are not absolutely the final word. If you feel that the rankings are skewed, say so!

62.508 (-) - 10.00: Rutianas
Rut, I had Sela do the subtraction on your military spending because it is always annoying. You should just get infinite spending and we'll call it a day. Gosh. Thanks Sela. And also, watch out for Rut's lagging economic stats. Could come back to bite her sometime.
56.657 (+) - 9.06: Hispania Ulterior (VP)
Nice save on the economy. You should be president Wink. Also military spending shot up. So yeah, that was pretty good. The reason that had such a great effect was the population of the state.
56.232 (+) - 9.00: Panzersharkcat
Average changes here, and insulated from the rise of the Centauri thus far only because of sheer size.
51.660 (+) - 8.27: Selathorn (Alpha Centauri)
Second nation to top 100 trillion in military spending. Nice work. Only lagging stat is population. And seriously, we'd all be in trouble if it were even approaching the population of even something marginally bigger, like Burnination.
Nice steady improvements. Would like to see if the increases in economic stats AND military spending stats are sustainable.
50.654 (+) - 8.10: Burnination
Pretty average changes, as usual. Not nearly enough increase to keep up with powers that seem to be rapidly militarizing. This is the bottom of the second line. Rutianas is the first line military power, with 6 points of score between her and the next nation. The next 4 nations (Hispania to Burnination) fall within the next 6 points. These powers remain fairly equal, with some military power distinction, but all fairly powerful.
37.080 (+) - 5.93: Sacae
Good all around increases. Still a ways to go to really sit with the top 5. Would like to see how this one goes in the long run.
4.708 (+) - 0.753 Bastion Dominion
OK, percentage wise, I suppose that was pretty good for an increase. But still kind of a pointless nation there.

For stat purposes, I think I'll bring back Tomania and use that for the Bastian Dominion. That or Super Greater Germany.
