INTRODUCTION

For the modern International Military Report, I use an application from the region of Texas that I find to be superior to the old application at NSEconomy. Thanks a bunch Texas! Link for their app is right here. More helpful links can be found in the stickied thread by Panzersharkcat on these forums.

Note to those of you who want me to add you to the report: PM me, and I will! Blah blah blah, don't be inactive and on my report.

Since the addition of the formula, there is a clear, numerical way to determine military power. As a result, I'm going to put a plus or minus after each person's gross military score to show whether their military power increased or decreased over the last month.

Oldest reports can be found on the old forums.

DATA LISTS

Level of Military Technology

Tech levels are important in the military. A bunch of dudes with clubs are going to lose to the army equipped with laser pistols, especially if the group with laser pistols blows the other group's planet up.

Rutianas - Future Tech + Super Weapon (X2)
Panzersharkcat - Future Tech + Super Weapon
Burnination - Future Tech + Super Weapon
Selathorn - Future Tech + Super Weapon
Aescentia - Future Tech

Defense Spending
Defense spending is important to military strength for an obvious reason: if you're not spending any money on your army, you don't have a very well trained army, or a very well equipped army (Note that per-soldier spending is important here as well.). As far as you're concerned, remember this formula: More military spending = stronger military.

- 1) Rutianas: $111,508,650,656,948.00 (- $9,347,713,169,737)
- 2) Burnination: $45,245,756,678,179.40 (+ $3,373,475,537,063.80)
- 3) Selathorn: $25,899,371,526,631.70 (+ $1,668,586,961,099.50)
- 4) Panzersharkcat: $18,034,462,057,487.10 (+ $212,093,726,303.70)
- 5) Aescentia: $3,552,020,888,900.48 (+ $274,258,708,032.80)

Economic Strength - (Relative ratings determined based on data given.)
This one was added for a little more complicated reason. Firstly, if you have a more powerful economy, your nation is better equipped to weather a prolonged war without collapsing. Also, more industries means that you can produce more weapons during a war, and may be more difficult to strategically bomb.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: GDP Per Capita $46,394.03, Trade = DEFICIT $409,540,960,346.06, Currency = 2.0048 (Economic Regress)
- 2) Selathorn: GDP Per Capita $44,682.54, Trade = DEFICIT $137,508,895,658.33, Currency = $1.9675 (Economic Improvement)
- 3) Burnination: GDP Per Capita $42,167.27, Trade = SURPLUS $320,687,903,993.10, Currency = $1.9113 (Economic Improvement)
- 4) Rutianas: GDP Per Capita $27,214.33, Trade = SURPLUS $3,417,362,676,134.98, Currency = $1.5355 (Economic Regress)
- 5) Aescentia: GDP Per Capita $22,423.79, Trade = DEFICIT $379,357,142,243.68, Currency = $1.0536 (Slight Economic Improvement)

Population; -->(IN MILLIONS)<--
This is included for another simple reason. Population matters. Nations can be powerful just on sheer numbers. Real world example: China.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: 7999
- 2) Rutianas: 6378
- 3) Burnination: 5335
- 4) Selathorn: 2856
- 5) Aescentia: 2396

OVERALL RANKINGS

This list is essentially my interpretation of all the previous lists. I created a formula to plug the numbers above into to eliminate any subjectivity. Here is the formula for the raw scores:
International Military Report (FT) - April 2011 Milscore
Please note that the scores given by this formula are objective, but they are not absolutely the final word. If you feel that the rankings are skewed, say so!

Format:
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description

42.81227 (-) - 10.0: Rutianas
Huge drop in spending, large drop in economics. Probably because the Rutians were tired or something this month. Eh, they're so far ahead it doesn't even matter. Look out though, Panzer's getting close.
39.69855 (-) - 9.27: Panzersharkcat
Up and down, up and down. With the economic swing. Probably because economics is what leads the Rheans here.
38.89998 (+) - 9.09: Burnination
Slight increases across the board. Increase in population expands the effect. Burnination gained significant ground to the other nations. Mostly because they declined, not because Burnination surged.
25.4841607 (+) - 5.95: Selathorn
Once again, very powerful for a nation that is relatively small.
10.0627526 (+) - 2.35: Aescentia
Once again, for the umpteenth time, tiny growth in military spending. This will work for Aescentia over the long term if they can keep it up. However, they still do need to pull their economy out of that ditch it seems to be stuck in.

But I was enjoying the fact that you haven't strung two upswings or two downswings together Razz

Though yeah, it was a pretty darn slight drop this time.
