INTRODUCTION

For the modern International Military Report, I use an application from the region of Texas that I find to be superior to the old application at NSEconomy. Thanks a bunch Texas! Link for their app is right here. More helpful links can be found in the stickied thread by Panzersharkcat on these forums.

Since the addition of the formula, there is a clear, numerical way to determine military power. As a result, I'm going to put a plus or minus after each person's gross military score to show whether their military power increased or decreased over the last month.

NEW: I removed the tech level data column since I decided it was redundant. It says FT up in the thread title.

Oldest reports can be found on the old forums.

DATA LISTS

Defense Spending
Defense spending is important to military strength for an obvious reason: if you're not spending any money on your army, you don't have a very well trained army, or a very well equipped army (Note that per-soldier spending is important here as well.). As far as you're concerned, remember this formula: More military spending = stronger military.

- 1) Rutianas: $126,448,483,845,523.00 (+ $5,337,297,788,589.00)
- 2) Burnination: $53,434,871,595,487.80 (+ $2,120,924,342,885.50)
- 3) Selathorn: $31,999,381,132,343.60 (+ $6,100,009,605,711.90)
- 4) Panzersharkcat: $20,280,843,994,135.70 (+ $669,131,487,021.70)
- 5) Aescentia: $4,195,135,693,760.88 (+ $282,320,881,537.20)

Economic Strength - (Relative ratings determined based on data given.)
This one was added for a little more complicated reason. Firstly, if you have a more powerful economy, your nation is better equipped to weather a prolonged war without collapsing. Also, more industries means that you can produce more weapons during a war, and may be more difficult to strategically bomb.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: GDP Per Capita $47,355.70, Trade = SURPLUS $8,453,380,819.60, Currency = $2.0255 (Economic Regress)
- 2) Selathorn: GDP Per Capita $44,669.71, Trade = DEFICIT $119,678,532,389.57, Currency = $1.9672 (Slight Economic Regress)
- 3) Burnination: GDP Per Capita $42,135.18, Trade = SURPLUS $416,418,055,677.89, Currency = $1.9106 (Economic Improvement)
- 4) Rutianas: GDP Per Capita $28,604.91, Trade = SURPLUS $2,718,527,195,124.71, Currency = $1.5742 (Economy Stagnant)
- 5) Aescentia: GDP Per Capita $23,420.88, Trade = DEFICIT $300,547,939,338.34, Currency = $1.0768 (Economic Regress)

Population; -->(IN MILLIONS)<--
This is included for another simple reason. Population matters. Nations can be powerful just because of sheer numbers. Real world example: China.

- 1) Panzersharkcat: 8362
- 2) Rutianas: 6735
- 3) Burnination: 5693
- 4) Selathorn: 3210
- 5) Aescentia: 2749

OVERALL RANKINGS

This list is essentially my interpretation of all the previous lists. I created a formula to plug the numbers above into to eliminate any subjectivity. Here is the formula for the raw scores:
International Military Report (FT) - June 2011 Milscore
Please note that the scores given by this formula are objective, but they are not absolutely the final word. If you feel that the rankings are skewed, say so!

Format:
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description
Raw score - Relative score: Nation
Description

46.5444068 (+) - 10.0: Rutianas
At least this time I could remove the trillions place in my brain and not have to do any carrying to find the difference in military spending. Ever considered improving your economy? Wink
42.2291868 (+) - 9.07: Panzersharkcat
Small economic regress, small increase in spending, small increase in population. Overall, an improved score.
41.8744592 (+) - 9.00: Burnination
Why is your economic cycle reverse of everyone else? Down last month when everyone else was up, and now up while everyone else is down.
28.4802946 (+) - 6.12: Selathorn
I think Selathorn is the only nation to have never lost ground ever. Just give it a while more, and Selathorn will be on top of the upper three powers.
11.4835318 (+) - 2.47: Aescentia
Another non-remarkable and steady increase.

Trying to improve the economy. I haven't had many economic issues that don't hurt the military! :p

Changed my mind about updating the graph here. Too much work Razz

I also discovered that I can't delete that post.

I was kidding Rut. See, your military spending increases so much each time that the calculators I use will only display in scientific notation, so I have to do it in my brain. So if you increase your economy and not your military, it will be easier on my overworked brain Wink
