Augustine Monument:

The sun was in the noon hours and waning as they gather near the steps of the monument. Many had taken off of work early to come to the event, especially those working in districts not far from the government central district. They all walked diligently along the sidewalks and walkways towards it, the towering reminder of their glorious beginning. The young and old alike, almost hand-in-hand as they came before the steps and looked eagerly upwards towards the small podium that had been setup for the speech. Like clockwork the hour came and with no second lost they came from outside the building to the thunderous applause of the crowd and the flashes of cameras. All eyes and lenses were fixated on the figures as they came out and waved the crowd. It wasn't until he approached the podium, with the other two flanking either side the a great silence came over the crowd.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the crowd, and the millions of which are watching in their offices and schools and homes I welcome you. I come to you today as not simply a Triumvir, as not a proud and humbled elected leader of your great Dominion, but as a fellow Veridian. For I stand before you today along with your fellow Triumvir bearing a gift, an announcement that shall change the course of the Veridian people now and forever. We called this press conference here for what better place to announce such a groundbreaking and monumental announcement than in the sight and shadow of beloved Dictator Julian Augustine. Before Augustine we were a people divide among nations-state, thriving on bitter lies and foolish notions of racism and greed. But Augustine, the son of simple farmers had a vision. He envisioned a world not divided, but united, a world were all Veridians sat together at the table of brotherhood and were made full of a feast produced through the spirit of cooperation and peace."

The man, Triumvir Marcus Flaven adjusted his tie before continuing. His suit, remenicent of the style worn by men on Earth during 1920-50s.

"Before Augustine all we knew was war and it brought us to the brink of our own destruction. Today, 200 years after the Dictatorship of our beloved enlightened despot we stand today far removed from the ashes of our past. Today we stand as a united planet, a people ready to embark of the next journey, the journey to the starts. Magister Populi Augustine promised the people not only would he rebuild and renew Veridia Prime, but he'd also lead us towards the stars. Today, though sadden that our illustrious leader did not live to see that time, I am pleased to announce that on the foundation of his greatness we have indeed achieved. Since the first launch of a man spacecraft some 250 years ago to our moon we have not only return but have pushed forward. Today we explored every inch of our solar system and know more about it now than we ever have including the invaluable discovery of element zero."

Marcus paused and allowed for the applause and cries from the crowd to fill the air. This he allowed to go on for several minutes before he quieted them down and continued.

"However, though grand as these remarkable achievements are for our people, they are not and cannot be enough! Since the dawn of our civilization and the time of our earliest ancestors there has been a drive for more, a desire to reach over the horizon, and drive to return to Earth. For it was through the Stargate our ancestors came and it was to be through the Stargate they were to leave yet as we know this was not to be. They knew not then nor do we know conclusively now why they could not reactivate the Stargate and return home. But now, thousands of years since the time of our ancestors we possess the capability to return to Earth. We do this not because we wish to leave Veridia Prime and the great Dominion we have inherited but because we wish to at last know the true of our past and hopeful forge a new future with our lost brothers as friends. It is for that reason and for our natural right to begin our own exploration of the stars that the Dominion has authorized the launching of the Felicita, our first trans-galactic spacecraft. With this vehicle and others like it to come we will begin our march across the galaxy, expanding our reach and unlocking the vast it vast secrets not for person and private gain, but for the glory and enhancement of the Veridian Dominion!"

By the end the crowd could not contain themselves and a burst of sounds came forth. Cheers and chanting, all in the name of the great Dominion, could be heard from blocks around the monument. Indeed even people watching by broadcast found themselves clapping and cheering at the screen by the time the speech was complete. Along with his fellow Triumvir, Marcus stood triumphant as he waved to the crowd. This lasted for several moments until at last he and the others receded back into the monument. Moments later he and the others left near the back of the complex via their vehicle, heading back towards the government complex.

The Next Day....

Dr. Nautius Uriti was the chief engineer and scientist overseeing who oversaw the Felicita both through its construction as well as its testing phase. He was an older gentleman well in his 70s and while he was getting slow in the walk he remained one of the sharpest minds in all of Veridia Prime. He'd been on the project for his entire scientific career but only recently on an "official" and highly publicized level. Indeed, while the Felicita itself was a new ships, many of her components were much, much older. Sitting in a small conference room, it was about five hours until the Felicita was scheduled to launch. Across from the professor at the other end of the table sat the Triumvirate that led the Dominion, Marcus sitting in the middle.

"It seems everything is coming to fruition professor" said Marcus. "Is the Felicita truly ready, failure now would be quick difficult for the Dominion as you well know."

"Oh now Triumvir" said the Uriti, "The ship and more importantly, her hyper-drive is fully functional. We've already ran several test runs with the ship as you well know, jumping from this system to the closest neighboring solar system. Everything checks out, the ships will make the journey as well as the return as planned."

"Good" said Marcus with a grin, his fellow colleagues also smiling. "We are truly on the edge of a new era and its all thanks to our discovery. You know professor its funny, most scientist of the day 100 years ago thought a second trip to our moon was useless. The first Veridians on the moon found nothing of any substantial use. Luckily its people like me who have greater vision and the determination to drive us forward. For if we'd never got back, we wouldn't have found that alien ships and all the wonders it has now provided us."

"This is very true Triumvir" said the professor. "Its secrets, though daunting a task they were to crack, have allowed us to reverse engineer and build the hyper-drive as well as the other key systems needed for this successful launching."

Before Marcus and the other Triumvir were small electronic tablets that had on them all the evidence of the alien ship that was recovered in secret by the Veridians from their moon. The ships, as the Veridians concluded, was apparently a scout ship or person a small cargo vessel that had visited their solar system some decades ago. Indeed, many scientists who were given knowledge of the ship even speculated that the aliens weren't actually coming to Veridia Prime at all but were merely passing through and due to some still unknown reason, crashed on their moon. The alien ship had a crew of at least five (click me) as that was the amount of bodies that were recovered along with the ship. Interesting creatures, but ones the Veridians had yet to encounter on their own again.

Their technology was advanced, far so than that of the Veridians at the time of the discovery and still so compared to the Veridians of today. It took hundred years to simply get a working knowledge of the hyper-drive system the ship used. Damaged itself, the Veridians were able to take what was left to get a basic understanding of how it worked and use their own level of technology to build something comparable. Now with it, they were ready to make the next leap and return to Earth. Officially, in an effort to rekindle the lost brotherhood between themselves and the home of their ancestors. Unofficially, however, the Dominion wanted something else as their desires weren't necessarily as noble as the public face appeared.

"We trust professor that you'll honor your contract with the government and continue to keep what's classified, classified."

"Of course illustrious Triumvirate" said the professor.

"Good" said Marcus with another smile. "So are the coordinates to Earth ready?"

"Yes Triumvir" said the professor. "Using the ancestor's knowledge of their location in relation to Earth, we believe we have an accurate location with which to use for our calculations. It took some time to decipher since much of our ancient past has been lost due to the wars of old but what we have, we feel is accurate."

"Good" said Marcus, "We look forward to the launch..."

Hours later, the Launch...

It was truly a global event, the official launching the Veridia Primes first ever trans-galactic spaceship. The crew of the ship, ten total, were already being heralded as patriots and heroes. The launch of the ship from the surface of the planet was not entirely the main event of the launch as Veridians by this time were used to sending ships into space. Indeed they had already firmly grasped the technology necessary to traverse their solar system in a matter of minutes. It was once the Felicita cleared orbit and was among the stars that the whole world sat on the edge of their seats in excitement.

The Felicita:

Using its power sub-light engines and the effects of a mass-effect field the ships quickly left the orbit of the Veridia Prime and before long was near the edge of their known solar system. It was then that the hyper-drive was powered up and a countdown began, with the signal being broadcasted back to the planet. Everything listened in excitement and watched via satellite, as the ships prepared for its jump.

1........ activating hyper-drive now.

In a great show, never before seen by anyone on the planet the ship disappeared in a flash of light. It enter hyperspace, a realm previously unknown to the Veridians and something they still grasped very little about. Though the hyper-drive they'd procured from the Alien vessel was advance and would have made the trip relatively shortly, the Veridians hyper-drive was primitive by comparison. Though a great attempt at a copy and certainly an engineering feet for their people, it simply lack in speed given that the Veridians were working within the constraints of the only power sources available to them, sources inferior to that of the alien ship's reactor which was too damaged for the Veridians to properly study. So instead the trip would take an entire day to complete their journey to Earth however, the coordinates they were using wasn't taking them to Earth.

While their ancestors had indeed known the location of Earth they also knew the location of another Earth-known planet of their time, Alpha Centuari. Though what text survived of their ancestor that spoke of Earth did indeed mention the planet, its location was apparently lost. Instead it seems the scientists took for granted that what was left was Earth location and not a second planet. The ship would drop out of hyperspace Veridian Hours (roughly the same as Earth) later just inside the system containing what they thought was Earth. They began a slow yet straight course for the planet.

(OOC: Panzer, Veridia and I actually planned out this RP. Is the sudden and inexplicable Green Lantern intervention really necessary here? It simply feels extremely out of place and unnatural and I think I'll simply ignore it until further notice, and I'll defer to Veridia's judgement if he decides to accept your canonicity in this RP.)

When the Felicita ended their hyperspace jump, they found themselves not looking at their old home but another place entirely. Instead of having a single Sun there were three stars in one system, two very close together and one farther off. There was no green and verdant Earth, instead they saw a harsh red planet with strange pink growths spreading all over it. But there was also a clear sign of a civilization, too, for on the same harsh red planet there were lights showing on the dar, lights that seemed to form a global web of energy, and numerous satellites orbited the planet, seemingly part of orbital industry.. There was a larger structure too nearby, a spaceport constructed in Centaurian space by the Rheans to help build up the fledgeling Planetary Defense Force's Spacefleet.

One of the ships of said spacefleet, the UNS Explorer was out of the the spaceport's dock when the Felicita came, having been on a return trip to Chiron after shuttling some embassy workers to various new embassies created in other nations. On the ship was Andreus Aaron, an officer who had the unique distinction of being the first Centaurian to visit another nation, recently promoted to Commander of the Spacefleet after taking what training they could provide seeing as he was as good of a Commander as any for such a new branch of the Defense Force. Chairman Yang and Colonel Santiago groaned at his appointment, wanting a soldier from their own factions to take command, but both of them equally knew that Brother Lal wouldn't willingly hand anything over to them.

Still, more importantly, shortly after the Felicita entered the scanner range of the UNS Explorer, Commander Aaron decided to send a brief radio message to them - "Greetings, unidentified vessel. You are entering the space of the Planetary Governate of Alpha Centauri. Identify yourselves or we will be forced to use force against you." He was directly ordered by Pravin Lal to attempt to peacefully make first contact with any other nations he might meet, and here was a ship from an unidentified nation right within their space. Although he was wary of hostile aliens since the Sith invasion of Chiron, the ship that just entered seemed to be alone and actually even less advanced and armed then even their own. Still, he held his breath and waited eagerly for a reply, and quickly turned on his radio link to the Universal Translator on Chiron in case they would speak in another language then his own...

OOC: Sorry for the confusion, the Veridians destination was earth but only because they assumed that's the location they had. Sorry, although whatever it is you posted (its gone now I see), keep it in mind. I'm hoping to eventually make it to Earth.

Sel: I forgot to ask, what is the language your civilization speaks?

IC:

"Captain Varro the jump was a success and all is still well in engineering" said the Engineering officer over the com. "We won't be able to jump for another few minutes though, we should allow it to cool down. The Naquadeia reactor remains stable and shields have been brought online."

"Good" said Tiberius, the Captain. "Keep me apprised.

The jump of the Felicita had indeed been a success but as the crew on the command deck soon realized, they were not where they were suppose to be. The most obvious first sign was this system's 3 suns.

"Something is not right" said the helmsman, "Legends speak of Earth having only one sun. The Ancestors said nothing of 3!"

"Our calculations must have been wrong" said the science officer. "Something must have been off, put us off course but that just seems impossible, the translations were right and the greatest minds of Veridia Prime worked on those calculations."

"Well we can't contact home as we're completely out of range" said Tiberius, calming his crew. "and its not like we can just jump back home at the moment. Now we were sent of a mission of exploration, so we'll explore and see what this system has to offer. Perhaps its inhabbited and its local citizens may know how to get to Ear...."

The Captain was cut off when the message sent from the Explorer was received by their communication system. Neither the crew nor their Captain could make out what the message was saying though the language did in fact seem very familiar. They believed it to be of a similar language spoken on Veridia Prime before the time of the Dominion by one of the old nation-states. Sadly none of the crew were of that heritage. Instead the message was played through their own translator, playing through the various languages their people knew were spoken on Earth by the Ancestors. A partial match was found and the message was translated in text to the best of the computer's ability.

Reading it over, the Captain decided to return a message in kind. Veridians spoke a language that was similar to Latin once spoken on Earth. Though different in that the Veridians had made it of their own, much of the basics of the language were still the same. Sending the single on the same frequency as it was received, the Captain spoke. "This is the VPS Felicita and I am its Captain, Tiberius Varro. We are an explorer ship attempting to find Earth. We seem to have lost our way and would welcome any assistance you and your people could give us."

After Commander Aaron sent his message, he received a reply a few moments later. The reply was in a language that he felt was both unfamiliar and familiar at the same time, and one of the crew members with more careful hearing realized that they were speaking some kind of Latin. Commander Aaron nodded in reply, as it did make a great deal of sense, seeing as so much of the English language was based off of Latin. Using their radio link to the Universal Translator, they manage to decode the Veridians' speech, and were somewhat surprised at their result. Although they knew vaguely that many other spacefaring races were distantly descended from humans from Earth somehow, the idea of having another group of seemingly human people out there trying to find Earth still surprised them. So he simply sent out another radio message, this one translated into the Veridian language -

"Understood, it is good to see that your intentions are peaceful. You are currently in the Alpha Centauri trinary system. Earth is only 0.06 parsecs away from our current location. However, before you continue to Earth I would like to request that you board our vessel so that I can learn more about your nation, which is unknown to us, and possibly better assist you with your goal. At the very minimum, we can disclose some of what little we know about our galaxy. If you wish, it may also be possible for you to speak with our leader, Planetary Governor Pravin Lal, over a videochat interface."

The message was received and played with some excitement in the crew as the message was in their language. To meet another race with the technology to translate language was certainly of interest to the Veridians. However, some of the crew hoped the Captain would air on the side of caution.

"Captain, we should be cautious" said Domitia Meta, the ship's second in command. "We don't know their true intentions."

"That might be so commander" said Tiberius, "but we must face facts. We're in their territory and are still several minutes away from being able to use our hyper-drive again. Secondly, this ship has limited defensive capabilities. They've proven themselves to know something of Earth, from their language they even appear to possibly be humans themselves. I think there is much we can learn from them and in the name of the Dominion, I'm going to find out everything I can."

"So be it Captain, but at least allow the medic to give you a few shots before you board their ship. We don't know what kind of diseases they could be carrying and we can't protect you against them once you leave the ship."

"Indeed" said the Captain. Tiberius then had his radio officer sent another message back, the Captain acknowledged, accepted, and thanked his counterpart for the offer and agree to meet. The two ships then exchanged coordinates to rendezvous with one another. The Veridian ships traveled cautiously to the coordinates and one there found the Explorer waiting for them. (OOC: Assuming a bit here) The alien ship was larger than the Veridians vessel and indeed appeared far more armed than their own. The Captain was glad he'd not taken his second's suggestion.

Unaware of the environment of the other ship, the Captain was given some antibody booster shots and then put on a space suit. The smaller Felicita docked with his larger companion and after the docking procedure was complete the doors were open and Captain Varro stepped off his own ship and onto an alien vessel, the first in all the Dominion to do so.

When the Captain entered the inside of the UNS Explorer, he saw a welcoming man in a blue and white jumpsuit and a blue helmet like the UN Peacekeepers of old, presumably an officer of some sort, and then a rather less welcoming woman in a black and partially camouflage jumpsuit wearing a green beret with a military rank badge logo, presumably another officer, maybe a second in command. In any case, the man in the blue and white jumpsuit speaks first to the Captain in Veridian, who would then recognize his voice as the voice from the radio message.

"Welcome to our humble vessel, esteemed Captain Varro. My name is Andreus Aaron and I am the current commander of our fledgling spacefleet. From what we've seen we've inferred that your ship has come from a long way off. Could you explain about the nation of your origin, perhaps? Our nation is relatively new to the galactic scene, but we've managed to contact the major spacefaring nations and establish mutual relations. Unless the other nations have been hiding your existence from us, we presume that you are newly spacefaring, am I correct?"

"Thank you for your greeting Commander" said the Captain. "I must say that your assessment of my civilization is correct in that we are a new spacefaring race. We have explored our home system of Nag extensively and even gone beyond it to the next closest system in testing the ship I command, the Felicita. She is the first in her design, the first interstellar ships that our people currently possess but I assure you she won't be the last."

"My people are from a planet we call Veridia Prime but it is not the planet our ancestors evolved from. Though I am a product of evolution on the planet, our ancestors evolved and came from Earth. They traveled through the Stargate thousands of years ago and were stranded on Veridia Prime when they were unable to recontact Earth via the Stargate. It took ages before our people, a product of those ancestors, were able to achieve the level of technology necessary to reach Earth. It was actually from what records we have left of those ancestors that led us here although we thought it was Earth."

"Since being strained, our people as they grew in population also grew apart and sadly, our history until very late is riddled with divisions and wars. This, more than anything perhaps, is why it has taken our people so long to return to Earth."

Commander Aaron only nods as he takes it in. As the Captain finishes, he says, "That is a... highly intriguing history of your nation. You say that you left Earth thousands of years ago? We only left Earth about two hundred years ago in the 22nd century, and thousands of years before that our race was still a heavily agricultural society with little technological development going. I can only think of one thing that might explain this, and that would be your people having traveled not only through space but also through time. Of course, this is simply mere speculation on my part and I'm not much of a scientist. Perhaps our scientists could collaborate to study this subject someday. But until then, we should discuss more immediate matters. Perhaps I should begin with giving you some useful information, firstly about our nation and our planet.

"As I said before, we left Earth about two hundred years ago and came to this system, Alpha Centauri, on the sleeper ship named the UNS Unity. The United Nation sent the best and brightest of humanity on this mission, but as we began to arrive in the system our ship began to fall apart, and the leader Captain Garland was mysteriously assailed. We ended up getting on colony pods and making Planetfall just before the ship fell apart completely, but people in various pods lost contact with each other. Some of the more charismatic people on the pods - usually officers - led the others on their pods and formed various factions. They still exist to this day, and we still have those same people.

"We gradually formed pseudo-nations and fought as nations do, and I say pseudo because we fought not based on national loyalty but ideological loyalty. However, our battles for ideological supremacy stopped when the Progenitor race of aliens came our planet, Chiron, in search of a certain former Progenitor research center called Manifold Six. We fought them off our Planet and we all agreed to a cease-fire and have created a planetary government that was the original purpose of the mission. In any case, all of the fighting stopped and we gradually developed our technologies and gained the capability to contact other nations. Soon after that, our whole region was invaded by a hostile alien force known as the Sith based in the Gamma Quadrant, although we fought them off. We also managed to finally unlock the Secrets of the Manifolds after that war that lets us traverse the stars as we do today.

"I think it is also important to tell you about the other nations in our region, although our knowledge of them is somewhat limited. We firstly know of a confederation of states on a planet known as Rhea. They are a very capitalistic and libertarian state and we have very cordial relations with them, and have done good business trading. Another we know of is an empire called Rutianas. We don't have much in the way of relations with them, but they seem to be very much a socialist and militaristic nation, things that we really don't associate with. The final is one called Burnination, which is an isolationist empire of some sort that we really don't know much about. Those are the major nations. There are others, I'm sure, but those need not be mentioned as much.

"Now, I bet that it seems like I'm revealing a lot of information, maybe too much information and maybe information that it's not advantageous to reveal. The thing is, all of this information is very easy to acquire and isn't exactly high-grade, it could easily be gathered by simply overhearing radio chatter down on Chiron. But, we feel that it would be useful to help you and it is extremely difficult at best to use against us. Perhaps I should simply say that I believe in disclosure of information to the fullest extent possible, and leave it like that."

"Incredible" said the Captain. "I would have to agree that your assessment of our predicament may very well be valid Commander Aaron for the ancestor supposedly left Earth during the late 22nd century during a time when the Earth was again at war with itself. They left via the stargate in the hopes of exploiting the resources of Veridia Prime for the benefits of Earth in the hopes of ending the wars. Of course when our ancestors could no longer use the stargate to contact or travel back to Earth, they were effectively strained."

"Our people know much about war" said Tiberius with a solemn tone. "Though our ancestors founded a single colony for the purpose of survival on an alien world, as the community so too did it ground in divergent ideas. Before long the one community became many and over time they became nations. Our problems were numerous as we were separate by ideologies, sense of nationalism, and even wars over energy. In the end our people found ourselves on the brink of complete extinction and only when surrounded by the ashes of our former glory did the leaders of our world finally put nationalism and pride aside to come to the negotiation table. Fortunate for us, a man rose to power that had the genius and vision to rebuild our civilization and save us from our destruction. Without his glorious dictatorship, I might not be standing here having this historical meeting with you today Commander."

"Veridia Prime resides on the edge of the galaxy, a great distances from here and naturally Earth. If there are other spacefaring species from our sector of the galaxy they've never attempted to contact us, not even in the last decade or so as we've expanded our reach in the Nag system. All these species you speak of we've never met but I am sure my government would be interested in learning more if your people would indeed be interested in giving us this time of information. Tell commander, does your planet have a stargate by chance?"

Commander Aaron nods as he takes it all in, occasionally saying things like "Yes," and "I see," although when the Captain mentions a dictatorship he involuntarily flinches very slightly. As an officer from the Peacekeepers, with very strong convictions on the importance of democracy, hearing about a 'glorious dictatorship' is something that doesn't please him at all, especially since on Chiron phrases like that tended to come from the Human Hive, the Peacekeepers' greatest rival. In any case, however, he simply listened on. Once the Captain finishes, he says,

"I'm afraid we do not have a Stargate. We came to this system in a conventional way. However, we do have a Bulk Matter Transmitter, but it is only used to transport goods locally and is only one-way. As for information about our people, I believe that I can provide that very easily. We have a vast repository of information called the Datalinks which is based on the UNS Unity's databases and has been expanded on ever since. I believe I can provide you some information about the various factions and leaders we have here, some of our history and culture, including that of Old Earth which we think may be of particular interest to you. There will be some cartographic and economic information enclosed as well, which might possibly allow us to build trade relations of some kind."

He then turns to face a man at a computer terminal in a white lab coat wearing a badge designating him as being part of the "University of Planet Faculty - Information Management". He says, "Isaac Sidorov, could you retrieve some of the Datalinks files I mentioned and download them into a holodisk?" The man then nods, and says, "Yes sir," before quickly doing some work at the terminal and then retrieving a small thin metal disk with a glowing blue light at the center. He then hands it over to the Captain, and says, "This is a holodisk. The information inside can simply be accessed by tapping the blue light, which will reveal all of the information to you in holographic form. It shouldn't be terribly difficult to extract the information from it for you, seeing as you have computers advanced enough to let you travel faster than light."

Commander Aaron nods at Isaac, and says, "Thank you, Isaac." He then turns to face the Commander again, and says, "Well, we've settled that. Are there any other matters that need be dealt with now, or are you ready to go on your way?"

"Thank you Commander" said the Captain with a smile. "This is again, most generous of you and I am certain my government will appreciate the forwardness of your people. I am most certain that there is much my people can learn from yours and would certainly welcome it, given our common ancestry. I am sure if your government is willing, Veridia Prime will wish to send an official delegation soon once myself, my ship, and my crew return home and discuss with our government this meeting."

"I had hoped your people might have found a stargate on this planet. While we are not experts on the device, we do have some rudimentary understanding of the device and had hoped to use one here to contact our people back home. You see, we possess no communication technology that would allow us to contact them instantly over the vast distance between your home world and our own. Of course this is not an immediate problem of ours but is one our people will certainly need to remedy if we wish to continue our trek among the stars."

"No Commander I do not believer there is any other immediate concerns to deal with. We are assuming that there are no restriction to traveling to Earth are there? We wish to seek Earth for ourselves, as it is our mission, before we return to our home."

Commander Aaron nods, and says, "Your delegation is very welcome. Our nation will be happy to host them, even perhaps establish an embassy. In any case, I do see your concern about communication technology. Perhaps it may be possible for us to trade the technology to you in the future, but I have no such authority to do so, I will need to consult with our superiors. As for travel to Earth, there are no real regulations on doing so, as I believe other nations have done so before, however you may wish to avoid landing on it for the moment, as I believe the locals may be very hostile. I believe that an extremely accurate set of co-ordinates should be in the holodisk I gave you, so you should have little trouble with that. Best luck to you and your nation in your travels, then."

"Ah of course" said the Captain, "I know that when our ancestors left Earth, the planet was embroiled in fierce global conflicts. We had hoped the Earth would have been in a better situation than when our ancestors had left but of course, we also thought thousands of years had passed since our ancestors left an this seems not the case. Perhaps then if my government does indeed send emissaries from Veridia Prime, they can indeed negotiate with your government for such communication technologies. We will certainly consult the holodisk for the coordinates to Earth. Thank you again for your hospitality Commander."

Captain Varro bowed before leaving the deck of the ship and re-entering his own vessel. The docking doors then closed and soon the two ships were detached from one another, the Felicita slowly pulled away. After the decontamination process, Varro assembled the small crew into the mess of the ship. He placed the holodisk on the table and activated the small device. The entire crew was amazed at volume of information the small device contained. The Captain's science officer was particularly interested in the device, to understand how the device worked. The Captain also took the time to speak with his crew over the Alpha Centauri and their people. The crew was excited to meet another race from Earth as well as reach Earth itself,

To that end, Captain Varro did indeed use the holodisk to find the correct coordinates to Earth. His helm officers took the coordinates and placed them into their navigation computer and it began making the necessary calculations to make their jump. With the other officers returning to their stations the ship made their final preparation before making their jump. Sending one final message to the Explorer before jumping into hyperspace in a brilliant flash of light.

The trip from Alpha Centauri to Earth took less time than it had for the Veridians to travel from their homeworld to Alpha Centauri. Where it took upwards of an entire day to travel such a distance, to get to Earth it took merely two hours. They exited hyperspace just on the edge of the sol system and recognizing the planetary bodies of the system, the Veridians knew they'd finally reached their destination.

A green streak heads towards them the moment they enter the system. A black man in a green, black, and white outfit and green aura stops in front of them. A giant green stop sign forms out of nowhere.

The almost sudden appearance of the green sign in front of the ship startled the crew. The Captain swiftly ordered an all-stop and the Felicita abruptly came to a relative stop, just a few meters shy of the actual sign. The crew looked amazed as they peered out the front view window of the ship at the man as he just floated there in from of them, with no spacesuit or any other technology beyond the glowing field around his body.

The Captain tried to make no sudden movements as they sat there as he was worried what was going to happen. He understood very quickly that whomever and whatever this person was, they possessed a level of technology far beyond the Veridians. Motioning over to his communication officer he had all frequencies opened. After all, he felt the man should certainly have the ability to pick up the signal.

"This is the VPS Felicita and I am its Captain, Tiberius Varro. We are an explorer ship attempting to travel to Earth. We come in the name of peace and merely wish to visit the planet as it is the home world of our ancestors."

"I am John Stewart, Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814. Welcome back. Follow me." He starts flying towards the Moon.

Tiberius looks at his helmsman and order that they follow the man in. The helmsman complies and the ship slowly follows the lantern into the local system, passing planet by planet. The Veridians marvel as they slip slowly into their ancestor's ancient home space. The ship, equipped with a variety of different recording and analyzing technology began recording everything, including the Green lantern that was leading them in.

Eventually the cruise came to and end and the Felicita came to a stop, in high orbit, over the moon. Just to their left could be seen the objective of their quest and the destination of their journey, the lands of their ancestors, the planet Earth.

He touches near a tower on the Moon. He says to them, "Welcome to the Justice League Watchtower." He'll guide them to a dock if necessary.

(OOC: waitwaitwat. Since when did we ever decide that we had such a tower on the Moon? I can understand small things, but honestly, this is just kind of an insane alteration to the canon of Earth. I don't even believe that this place has been mentioned before. Sorry if what I'm doing seems intrusive or anything, but I really really don't like how this is going.)

(OOC: Weird. I seem to remember having that thing around a while back. Probably bad memory on my part. But yeah, my chunk of Earth is basically a condensed DC Universe, but altered to take place in Europe. Outside of the recent reboot, most of recent DC universe history has happened. The multiverse was nearly squished near Earth by Darkseid unleashing the Anti-Life Equation. There was the whole War of the Supermen bit, where there were American military bases on the Moon to fight off Kryptonians there in the actual DCU. Hell, they managed to turn the Sun temporarily red during that brief fight. I kind of handwaved you guys not being involved in this stuff because we're the ones taking care of it already. That's also why don't do more to assist North America, being busy keeping th world from turning to crap again. Still, don't quite know how to fit that in with Mothership Zeta. Then again, I think of that whole DLC as one big non-canon Easter egg. Doesn't stop me from making the Terran Starship Command in a different universe, though.)

(OOC: It might also be bad memory on mine, but I don't know. I suppose you're right about the DC universe thing, but it still feels a bit extreme. Can't it be any other place? Some random planet the next system over, maybe? I guess it's not really a problem, per se, but it feels really odd.)

(OOC: That would ruin the whole point of it being nearby. Plus, the next system over would be Alpha Centauri and that would require generational ships, expensive boom tubes, or other FTL to do. I suppose I could change it to being a satellite orbiting the Earth like in the Justice League animated series, if that's any better. No Binary Fusion Generator, though. The idea of them having a big death ray up there is too much wank.)

(OOC: OK, well, whatever. I'll just pretend as if it doesn't exist in RP, then, and make up some reason why we don't see it on the Moon.)
