Time Well Spent (FT)

Shein nods slightly and glances at Kennah. She taps on a datapad, obviously recording the information. "I'll do that. I'm curious to learn if our telepaths can make a connection of sorts with your planet."

The younger child stays silent this time, just watching and listening. Yes, Rutian children are often this attentive. They're trained to be.

The older child proves that point when he decides to speak up. "Why wouldn't someone be conscious of their environment? I mean, why would they want to waste it? And if not everyone is that way, why doesn't the planet just go after them and leave the rest of you alone?"

"Guilt by association, son." Shein looks toward his older boy. "It's common."

The boy frowns. "But you don't do that."

Shein just looks at his boy for a moment, before shaking his head. "I've done it." He doesn't go into it. "Everyone has. At least once."

Both boys look at Shein in confusion, but they don't question him further on that. Hey, they probably still see him as perfect.

Svetlana smiles and says, "It's a complicated economic question, the issue of pollution. Ask your father about the tragedy of the commons some time."

(OOC: Waiting for Sela before going much further.)

The older boy nods to Svetlana, clearly filing that question away for later. Shein just looks skyward briefly, then shakes his head. He's probably not going to get just that one question, but a million later. The ever-present Arren even looks a little amused.

Lal seems to agree, although he doesn't say anything.

Jenova and Thorgood look amused as well. Burnination never developed any technology that could harm the environment on a large scale, so the issue is moot to them.

Dmitri, out of boredom, starts playing thumb war with Svetlana.

Lal just quietly eats some more of his food.

(OOC: I have a feeling that we might want to end this RP soon.)

(OOC: Well, I thought that the big wait was for my factbook to be finished, since I'm the first target. Now that it's done, invasion? Or at least just the invasion of Chiron.)

Dmitri turns to Lal and asks, "Back to business. Would your government care to lease a few shuttles and corvettes for the time being?"

Lal shrugs, and says, "I'm not sure how much my faction would want to, actually, we wouldn't gain much from it. You might want to contact Morgan Industries, instead, they'd be much more interested and would make much better use of them."

"Noted."

When it ends, he heads back to his ship, which has a small contingent of troops to greet him, with a band blaring The Imperial March for him.
