Lt. Major Jun begins, and says in English, "Greetings, esteemed American delegate. My name is Lt. Major Hong Jun of the People's Liberation Army and as you know I am here to discuss terms of ending the conflict. I believe that in our situation, a white peace would be the best option for both of our peoples, in order to end this centuries long ancestral feud in a manner that would not only allow us to be under a diplomatic peace but a psychological one. However, it is in our interest be flexible to end this conflict and we are willing to make minor concessions if they are similarly returned."
Major Wu thinks on it for a few moments, and replies in Chinese, "I do not see why I or the US Army would choose to end this conflict now with a white peace when we have the upper hand. We have the support of a foreign power and we haven't been devastated in a battle with one, if our scouting reports are true. If anything, we would to the opposite to push back and-"
Suddenly, his earpiece rings to life and as he listens to Brigadier General Watkins and the UMNA advisers on the other side his facial expressions begin to change. He then continues, "It seems that my superiors and said foreign power seem to want peace just as much as you. We definitely won't go for a white peace however, it's not in our favor to do so. Perhaps I should ask you this question: Just how much are you willing to concede."
Lt. Major Jun nods, and replies, "A difficult question, to be sure. Pardon, but I will need to consult with my superiors."
He then begins to talk with Colonel Cheng on his own earpiece and after a brief moment of discussion they reach an agreement on how much the Chinese remnant would cede. Then, he pulls out a digital map, and draws out the borders for the final partition of Alaska, with the Chinese ceding much of the land in their control and leaving themselves with only a small foothold in southern Alaska. Red = Chinese, Blue = Americans, Purple = Russians/Swiss.
Major Wu softly hmms, and then briefly speaks with Brigadier General Watkins. After a brief moment, he finally says, "I can't believe that I'm saying this, but your terms are acceptable."
Lt. Major Jun smiles, and begins drafting out a paper document. Eventually, they complete the treaty, titled uncreatively the Chinese-American Treaty, and both sign it. With that, they relay news of the treaty back to their bases, and the Alaskan War finally ends.
Many on both side are distraught by the results, but many more are content to finally begin to live lives that weren't solely made up of fighting in an ancestral war. Some of the Chinese try to contact A&A and tell them the news of the peace try and to ask to return to the Motherland they were supposedly fighting for, while others stay and try to build up a new Chinese nation. The Americans on the other hand begin to seek closer relations with the UMNA, until they reach the point where the Grand Council finally decides to offer them a chance to join the UMNA as the Municipality of Anchorage. They accept.
(OOC: Yay happy ending for everyone.)
