Around the World in 80 Days - cont. (MT/PMT) ATTN RUTIANAS

I just realized that I never really finished this RP from the old forum. Essentially it's a fleet from Hew sent out to make contact with other nations in the East.

The Municipal fleet leaves Bismouth and then continues towards Asia, and they eventually reach Alanda and Alexia, where they send out their standard message.

"This is the UMS Eternal Dawn, of the Hew Eastern Exploratory Fleet. Our purpose is to make initial contact with any nations we many find and possibly establish diplomatic and trade relations."

(OOC: Oops)

The Eternal Dawn is contacted shortly after sending their message. "This is General D'Arc of Alanda and Alexia. We have received your message. What exactly do you wish from us?"

"Again, we are here to establish diplomatic and economic relations. Do we have permission to dock?"

"Permission granted. Stay only in zones designated for tourists. Economic relations should be taken up with the CEO of the Economy. You can find him at Bella Tower. It is in the tourist zone. Diplomatic relations may also be discussed with him." It wasn't the voice of the General that came through this time.

The ship docks and the Captain (who I forgot to name) exits the ship along with two escorts and a merchant, who obviously are equipped with extremely high tech equipment. They then head to the tower.

The technology of A&A is clearly going toward PMT. The city is similar to what you'd see in Bladerunner. At the tower, the group would be taken to the CEO.

The captain gives him a modest bow, and says, "Greetings, I am Captain, soon to be Admiral, Cornelius Advent."

He then steps back a step and the merchant steps forward.

"This is William Baxter, head of BaxterCo, the largest industrial conglomerate in the United Municipalities of Hew. We've come to discuss the creation of mercantile and diplomatic relations between our nations."

The CEO is in his office, seated at a very nice wood desk. The office is at the top of the building with a view over the entire city. The name on the door is 'J'son Alex'nder'.

When they're brought to his office, J'son is on the phone. He looks to them, then says into the phone, "I'll call you back." He hangs up right before their greetings.

"I'm J'son Alex'nder." It's pronounced 'Jason Alexander'. They just like little breaks in their names and language. Don't bother asking them why. They don't know why. "I've heard of your arrival. The only questions I really have are what you have that we would want and why?" He picks up a pen and starts fiddling with it while watching William Baxter.

"We have loads and loads of scrap metal, for the first part. We have tons of copper wires, steel reinforcements, ancient computer chips, and more that can be easily recycled into usable metal, which we presume that you will want for building. We also have relatively advanced military and civilian technology, while also having years and years of biotech research from some former entities in our area. I've taken a good look at this city, and indeed, it is quite advanced, but our technology is about 10 or 20 years more advanced. I'm not very sure about biotech, but we might be easily a century or so more advanced on that."

J'son leans back, thinking for a moment. "If you're so advanced, what could we possibly have that interests you?" Fair question really. They're looking for trade.

He shrugs, and says, "Mostly materials we can't get in our isolated area. We're quite sufficient with most manufactured materials, but the raw materials to get them aren't always there."

He hands J'son a list of materials his corporation wants.

J'son nods as he looks at the list. "I think we can work out a deal. What else did you want to discuss?"

Cornelius then says, "Diplomatic relations, mainly. We'd like to establish an embassy, if possible."

J'son nods. "As long as we have the right to establish one in your territory as well. Speaking of which, where is your territory?"

He pulls out a hardcopy of a map of Hew and some of it's basic infrastructure.

"We're based in the Appalachians, but we have some parts that extend into Canada and towards the Mississippi."

J'son looks at the map, then frowns. He points toward where D.C. had been. "Those bastards attacked us before. You aren't associated with them, are you?"

"Not really, no. Our leader, Generalissimo Roland made contact with them about a few months ago and signed a NAP and an open border agreement. They've expanded rather quickly through violent means, which is the opposite of what we do, and Roald is quite wary of them, with good reason of course. Just curious, when did they make this attack?"

J'son leans back and nods faintly. "It was about two centuries ago. They sent nuclear weapons our way. We managed to destroy them before they exploded. We retaliated." He doesn't have to explain what that means.

Both of them are silent for a second.

"...oh. Your country used to be China, then? That's definitely an interesting change. Could you care to explain a bit more about Alanda and Alexia's history, then?"

J'son nods. "China and Japan. Alanda is what had been China. Alexia is what had been Japan. We decided to join together under one ruler, P'tar J'nsen. We were going to have an alliance with Rutianas, but their Emperor didn't follow through with marriage to P'tar's daughter. We would have been able to take care of the survivors then. Unfortunately, it didn't happen." He shrugs. "We're still more advanced than they are. We'll handle it later." Yeah, he's unaware of what Aisha and Jericho are. "As to our history with them, well, they threw the first punch back then. They tried to invade us to bring democracy to a people that didn't want it. We retaliated. They decided we were better off dead. We retaliated. We won. They lost. I'm sure they're sore about it still. If they ever attack you, we'll help simply because there's still a lot of bad feelings on both sides."

"Hmm, interesting. I'm guessing the Westernization of names has occurred sometime along the way, then?"

J'son nods. "Some of us, yes. We still have quite a few here that have names that reveal who we were. We did take in quite a few of their refugees from Alaska and Hawaii. Some from California, Oregon, and Washington as well."

"Ah, makes sense. Is there anything else to be addressed before we leave?"

J'son shakes his head. "No. I'll make sure you get space in the city for an embassy. Feel free to wander around. We do have laws against open carry of weapons, though peaceful visiting military are exempt from that. Just make sure you're clearly military if you're armed."

"I see, thanks for the warning."'

Then then leave the building and take a look at the area.
