The Maynard Incident

Though initially hesitant, the hostages do respond to Psych Officer Raske's offer, and they are take onto the pod and brought back to the UNHS Aegis, where Psych Officer Raske joins with them to take a shuttle back to Port Garland, where they will be given full Psych therapy by the division of the Empath's Guild which services Port Garland. In the meantime, Captain Cahir broadcasts another message to Captain Deguzis.

"Unless our presence is further requested, the Centauri portion of this task force will take its leave. Intelligence suggests that there are no detectable vessels en route to this system, and we will continue our patrols for the vessels that once operated here. If in the future you have any intelligence to assist us with that matter, please forward it to the Homeguard, but until then, best of luck with your future mission."

The Battle of Trapper was not one songs would be sung about. The TRS Invincible, one of Thadius King's battlecruisers was destroyed in a single salvo. After that, the Trapper navy was falling over itself to surrender. When Fleet Admiral Causey demanded King be turned over to his forces, the Trappers were just as eager. And when he presented them with a peace treaty that would make Trapper a Heraklean client state it was signed without question.

From that day forward, Heraklea was granted permanent basing rights in the Trapper System. All policies of the Trapper government were subject to Heraklean approval. All Heraklean citizens enjoyed extraterritoriality. An unequal treaty in every sense of the word. But then again, the sadism and corruption of the ousted government was gone. Perhaps it was a good deal for them anyways.
