It is said that no one can hear you scream in space, that is perhaps not entirely true. Though the galaxy was filled with millions upon millions of worlds, it is doubtful that even a fraction have the technology to receive messages. Thus while most worlds were in the dark, some perhaps even in their own dark ages, there were a few with the technology to hear. The war with the Hildenburen had been massive in scope and though the Dominion had not directly taken a strike from the enemy, their homeworld had come within only a hair's length of an attack. The devastation suffered by the Sacaen had been terrible and the Dominion was not about to let that happen to them.

They knew that had to expand, they had to find more resources and they had to rebuild. The Ordenreich was helping, the materials they were providing at a very low cost was proving quite helpful. Yet, Veridians were not the type to stand with the help of another. No, if they were going to move forward and advance, they wished to do so under their own power and through their own ingenuity. To do this that had to expand on their own and not just in the physical sense. Not only did they need to seek out new planets and new resources, but they had to seek out new sciences and new technologies. mixing their greatly limited understanding of the universe with that of other species. Surely great advancements, great achievements could be met through such a journey forward. Oh yes, that was most surely true but at the same time there was always the fear and always the reality that great mistakes could also be made.

In the darkness and depth of space came a single signal, a distress signal. Automated, it was sent out on a subspace frequency that was being used by the Dominion. Perhaps still primitive by other Galactic powers, it was the most advanced form of communication the Dominion had. The message was brief, it warned of a problem and gave coordinates to a small star-system some distance from the official spacial border of the Dominion. The Dominion would receive the message but more curios would be who else would.

Burnination hears and discards thousands of distress signals each day. As painful as it is to do, the resources to help them all do not exist.

A Centauri-Class Cruiser, the UNS Ibn Battuta, had just completed an escort mission on the behalf of a Centauri trading expedition working on acquiring materials from independent polities on the Galactic Rim, and was homeward bound until an incoming distress signal was detected, from what seemed to be a Veridian frequency. Apparently, there was some sort of problem in a star system just outside the official sphere of influence of the Veridian Dominion. After a brief moment of thought, the ship's captain, Hanna Erebus, gave the pilot the order to redirect the vessel's course and investigate.

*The Arcanii Network was only recently established in the wake of the purging of the Black Order. However, due to the recent galactic war they were given priority funding to hunt down anything that might give them an advantage in another war with the Hildenburen or Gar'zhog. They were not the only ones looking though for the traitorous Black Order was also looking for the mysterious technology of the Hildenburen so they might use it to overwhelm the Ordenreich and win back their influential place in the Hierarchy. Because of this the Arcanii network looked to new ways to improve its stealth frigates in order to attack Black Order ships they encountered. The secret war between the Black Order and the Arcanii network gave rise to two new additions to the Ordenreich. The Silesia class Stealth frigate and the Black Hole Spec Ops Division. The Silesia stealth frigate was the first of its kind. It had the fire power of a normal frigate but many of the stealth abilities of older model stealth frigates. While the extra firepower made it not as stealthy as its counterpart it had the tech and sensors necessary to track down Black Order ships and destroy them. The Black Hole Spec Ops Division was made up of the best the Ordenreich Paladins had to offer. They were given training that was so intense that the program had a 30% mortality rate and a 95% drop out rate. The soldiers that survived the training, however, are some of the most skilled soldiers of the Ordenreich. The go with their skills they were given expensive new weapons and armor that were well past anything the regular armed forces had in its possession.*

Black Hole Special Operations Classes and Loadouts:

WARNING: CLASSIFIED ABOVE TOP SECRET

Order Imperator

Armor: O-1 Ballistic Power Armor (Features: Hardened Titanium Flex Armor (protects users from most small arms weapons fire and most armor piercing assault rifles and pistols), Cobra SAM shoulder mounted missile launcher (auto locking heat seeking missile launcher that will fire on any forces that come within range that are designated by the suit wearer, five missiles per loading), T5-V overpower program aka Devastator Mode (power armor is locked in more stiffly by computers allowing for better protection and better aiming for users at the cost of decreased mobility, unofficially referred to as "Tank Mode" by users)

Weapons: M-75 Typhoon Light Machine Gun (LMG equipped with blast shield for added protection and 130 round thermal clip), H-23 Piranha Combat Shotgun (Fully automatic shotgun equipped with 10 round thermal clip)

Overlord Paladin

Armor: P-8 Titanium Armor (upgraded version of the P-7 Titanium Armor used commonly by Ordenreich Paladins) (Features: C-56 Integrated Cyro Thrower, fires a burst of liquid nitrogen at enemies to incapacitate for easy kill or capture, Kinetic arm mounted energy shield, drawing power from the user's armor the user can deploy a shield capable of stopping high velocity projectiles)

Weapons: M-23 Valkyrie Assault Rifle, upgraded varient of the standard issue M-20 Vindicator Assault Rifle used by Ordenreich Paladins, like its counterpart the Valkyrie fires a five round burst and has a 40 round thermal clip but unlike the Vindicator its design allows user much better control while firing while also providing increased armor piercing capability, X-14 Eagle Pistol (upgraded varient of standard X-4 predator pistol used by Ordenreich Knights the X-14 has better firepower and is more lightweight

Black Dwarf infiltrator

Armor: W-2 Light Stealth Armor (Leather Armor treated with Refined Element Zero, the armor is very lightweight and strong enough to shrug off some weapons fire) (Features: Z-88 Katana Blade, Old Samurai styled katana with blade sharpened using precision lasers, Katana is capable of cutting titanium, Camouflage Mode, Element Zero components in Leather combined with suit electronics allow for user to blend in with their background providing near perfect invisibility)

Weapons: R-31 Black Widow Silenced Sniper Rifle, Silenced Sniper rifle with armor piercing capability that could destroy most tanks it has a three round thermal clip and comes with a built in silencer for long range stealth kills, K-12 Tempest SMG, fully automatic submachine gun with a 60 round thermal clip and built in silencer

Order Specialist Engineer

Armor: P-8 Titanium Armor, see Overlord Paladin Armor for details. (Features: Cyro Thrower and Shield are removed. Replaced with 4 Anti-tech EMP grenades and 4 Anti-Armor Molten Grenades and a A-1 Supply Pylon carrying enough supplies to fully resupply every different class in the Black Hole Spec Ops 4 times over)

Weapons: R-50 Valiant Sniper Rifle, 3 round clip sniper rifle built for high rate of fire, decent armor piercing capability, and easy access thermal clip loader for faster reloading, H-300 Claymore Shotgun, 1 round thermal clip shotgun that packs all its firepower into one shot that instantly drains the thermal clip the Claymore is extremely heavy and fires so heavily that its one of the few shotguns in the Ordenreich's arsenal that is considered to have complete armor piercing capability to rival that of most of it's sniper rifles

*The Arcanii network had just finished raiding a secret Black Order research facility when it received a Dominion distress beacon. After the Order Captain reported it to Arcanii Command and cleared it with them the Stealth Frigate set coordinates for the distress beacon to investigate it and aid if necessary*

Along the Dominion Border...

The Dominion Warship Saber was patrolling the border as it had now for several days. Short of ships at the moment, the Dominion had to work what crews and ship it had overtime to meet their basic defense needs (or perceived basic defense needs). The Saber was a Dominion cruiser and while a formidable ship, it would hardly stand a chance against any real threat and so its presence along the border was more of an added early-warning program than an actual defensive measure. Captain Taev Khev commanded the ship and while something of a work-horse, he was well respected among his crew. Personally, he was bored by his assignment here on the fringes of Dominion space. He couldn't count how many times he looked out a porthole and hoped to see an unidentified vessel approaching. Just the chance to fire up the weapons and stroke his ego, he'd spend money for that at this point.

Sadly once again there were no unidentified vessel in the area and sadly it appeared as if today would again go by without any excitement...or would it. Walking onto the bridge Captain Khev was approached by his communication's officer. "Captain, we've received a subspace communication from the Supreme Command" Khev's eye lit up though he hadn't intended to show so much excitement. "I'll take it in my office" he said and he left the bridge, walking only a few feet down the corridor until reaching his office. A small space, it was enough room for a few officers to stand in front of the captain's desk and that was all. Sitting, he opened the communication, it had come in on an encrypted channel and was an audio-visual message.

The message was from Admiral Tal'Aura from his office back on the homeworld. "Captain Khev" he stated in his message, "the Dominion has received a distress signal from P4F-651, a top-secret facility we have in place along the frontier. I am not at liberty to discuss the particulars but the Dominion is very concerned over this and has ordered me to dispatch your ship at once. Yours is the nearest ship we have at the moment and the Dominion is worried other species and galactic powers may have intercepted the signal. Your orders are to set course for P4F-651 at once, determine the problem, secure whatever sensitive data may remain, and destroy the facility if necessary. The Dominon Warship Razor was assigned to the facility and was making a supply stop just yesterday and we've lost contact with them as well. Understand that it is critical you keep exposure to a minimum when it comes to the data of that facility. Your authorized to use your own discretion on this Captain, Admiral Tal'Aura out."

Along with the message came the coordinates for P4F-651. There was a part of Captain Khev that was nervous as he'd only be given partial information about the facility. What was he walking into exactly and what if this was an enemy trap? Of course there was that other part of him that couldn't contain his excitement. FINALLY, a chance to do something other than pace the border. Leaving his office he returned to the bridge, informed the crew that they were leaving for the planet and gave them even less information that he was given. The helmsmen put in the course and in an instance the Sabor was changing course, crossing the border and jumping to hyper-space towards their destination.

The Star-system of P4F-651

The star-system of P4F-651 was a single-star system consisting only five planet. Most of the planets were either gas giants or dead rocks, save for one that existed within that perfect sphere for supporting life. At least, it did....or it still does...that seems to be yet undetermined. Though it didn't matter who entered the system first, they would surely find something they perhaps never seen before.

A cloud formation is space at the exact location of the signals origin, in fact the signal was still broadcasting. Was it a nebula, I suppose it was possible but then again it sure did look like a great big cumulonimbus cloud found on any number of worlds. Stranger still, it was expanding though only at a barely measurable rate at the moment.

The moment the UNS Ibn Battuta entered the P4F-651 system, its crew was astonished and confounded to see what appeared to be a large cloud forming in the center of the system. Captain Erebus frowned when she saw it herself, not exactly sure what the cloud was, if anything at all. Immediately, she set to giving orders like she did best: very quickly she commanded the sensor crew to examine the odd formation with everything they had and to dispatch their readings to the scientific personnel who were charged with analyzing whatever they might receive from the sensor crew. At the same time, she sent a dispatch to the Council of Admirals, notifying them of the situation, and then decided to wait for a reply before making any brash decisions.

*The stealth frigate, T.S.F. Lone Wolf, jumped in system and immediately the crew ensured all stealth features were on a functioning properly. They then saw the cloud and immediately went on high alert. The crew was concerned that another Hildenburen-Gar'zhog first contact was incoming and last thing they needed was for the Ordenreich to go into meltdown mode when they lost yet another stealth frigate to those bastards. The Order Captain of the ship, Lorek von New Allenstein, was about to begin long range investigation of the mysterious nebula like object when he noticed the Centuarians were present in the system. He sent a communication to them while keeping the stealth frigate hidden from them. With Ordenreich technological improvements they could now almost entirely mask their presence. Order Captain Lorek was a skilled Order Captain but he also tended to joke and be on the less formal side.

Order Captain Lorek: To the Centuarian vessel. You guys sticking your nose in other people's business again?

At first, the crew is a bit alarmed by the sudden and vaguely hostile message from nowhere, and some request to power up weapons, but Captain Erebus quickly dismisses them and urges the sensor crew to update the situation. Soon enough, they detect numerous sensor ghosts - though not without some difficulty - which would indicate some kind of cloaked vessel. The few faint energy signatures did seem to closely correspond to an OrdenReich vessel, and indeed Captain Erebus had some suspicions herself with the message's use of the demonym Centaurians as to the more standard demonym Centauri. She considered how to respond - to her, the message seemed suspicious, as jokes generally don't translate themselves well to the Centauri in a cultural sense. In the rigidly structured and memetically engineered Centauri society, ever word was carefully considered for intended impact and ideological compliance. She thought of a reply, and after a brief moment said,

"Greetings, foreign vessel, and if our assumption is correct, OrdenReich stealth vessel. I would like to ask why you would accuse us of, if I may quote, 'sticking your nose in other people's business', when you clearly have a stealth vessel just outside of the Veridian sphere of influence doing God-knows-what. We were conducting routine merchant escort, and only came here due to the distress signal, which, by naval protocol, we are obligated to respond to if we have the capacity to do so. Now, can you explain the same?"

*Order Captain Lorek merely snickered at the Centaurian's response before responding.*

Lorek: Did your homework I see... Lighten up Captain I wasn't accusing you of anything and even if you were up to something I don't rightly care. As for what we are doing I don't know. I just love drifting randomly to different systems and making nice with clouds of gas...

While Captain Lorek talks, Captain Erebus raises her eyebrow to the Lieutenant behind her in disbelief, and the Lieutenant only replied with a shrug of his own. Once Captain Lorek is done talking, Captain Erebus says, "Excuse me, Captain, but I will remind you that this is an urgent distress situation, and that first and foremost military personnel should show a sense of professionalism. This is Captain Hanna Erebus of the UNS Ibn Battuta speaking. Can you identify yourself and your vessel?"

Lorek: Whats the matter Captain? Intimidated by a puff of smoke blown around by cosmic winds? If you must know my identity all I can tell you is that I'm Order Captain Lorek, my ship, class, and purposes are all classified but if you need assurances I am not here for a fight. Trust me if I wanted to destroy your ship I would have done so and not did you the courtesy of giving you the time of day.

Clearly starting to lose patience, Captain Erebus replies, "Captain Lorek, I would like to remind you that a very clear distress signal was sent from this location indicating that our assistance is necessary. Every second we waste on banter may be endangering lives. Secondly, I have never indicated that I sensed or fear any hostility, though I would strongly suggest you consider your words carefully. If someone of higher rank than myself heard that remark, I am almost certain that it would serve for diplomatic insult, even if it was meant as a 'joke'. Now, can we please focus on the task at hand?"

Lorek: Alright geez... you Centaurians really need to work that stick out of your asses sometimes... besides we already know how this is going to work. You guys will want to poke and prod the anomaly, we people of the Ordenreich will want to blow it to kingdom come, the Dominion will swing on by and tell us to get the fuck out, and the Burninites will no doubt show up with all the answers in their own cryptic and infuriating way. Same shit, different day.

OOC: Love this by the way guys Laughing I meant to mention earlier that while I hope to help guide the direction of the RP, I also intend to allow for a good amount of ..."artistic expression" from everyone else involved. This conversation is around what I'm hoping the rest of this story will be like Very Happy

IC:

Perhaps on queue of the Ordenreich Captain's statements the Dominion Warship Saber enters the system, racing hastily towards the cloud before abruptly stopping and they begin scanning. Naturally, the noticed the Centauri vessel but for a few moments they ignore them and having no reason to look for them, they do not notice the Sacean ship at all.

What the Veridians gather in a few short minutes is perhaps the same information all the other ships, who've attempted to examine the cloud structure, have gather. They're clouds, more or less the same type that can be found on many worlds across the galaxy. Within their structure are some of the same molecules that make of regular clouds but there are also elements that are not registering in most databases. There also seems to be atmosphere with the cloud, its thinnest at the surface but seems to become greater the further scans attempt penetrate at the core. Whatever the cloud is, it is surely alien (at least to those gathered) and also seems to be hampering more specific scans. Faint readings of an energy signal and ghost-like readings of lifeforms within the cloud are also detected but due to the interference, its hard to be sure the readings are accurate.

Captain Khev and the rest of his crew are greatly perplexed by the cloud, more so the Captain as he was told there should be a planet here, not some kind of strange nebula. While he gets his best crew on determining what it is they are seeing, he decided to hail the Centauri vessel. Relations between the two had soured some in recent months before the war and the Dominion was still unsure where they sat with them, so the Captain decided to make his message as pleasant as was possible.

"Centauri vessel, I am Captain Taev Khev of the Dominion Warship Saber. Please state the nature of your business here in this system."

Captain Erebus chuckles briefly offline at Captain Lorek's surprisingly prescient words as the Veridian vessel arrived in the system. Sure enough, the vessel's captain asked her to identify their purpose for being in the system. In reply, she ways, "Greetings, Captain Khev of the Dominion Warship Sabre. This is Captain Hanna Erebus of the UNS Ibn Battuta speaking. We have come to this system in order to investigate a distress signal we had received and to render whatever aid possible."

*order captain Lorek decided to end the communication with the centaurians and go completely silent as the dominion didn't notice them. Instead they stealthily approached the dominion ship and got close enough to be almost touching each other's shields. The stealth ship then deployed a black dwarf infiltrator to sneak onto the dominion ship*

As she was waiting for a Veridian reply, Captain Erebus noticed a trail of sensor ghosts heading towards the Veridian vessel from the OrdenReich vessel's position. She thought, What in hell could they be doing? Her lieutenant noticed soon enough as well, and asked her, "Orders, ma'am?"

Captain Erebus simply shook her head, and said in contemplation, "Let's see how this goes. Heaven knows this will be interesting."

"Greetings to you as well Captain" Captain Khev replies. "We appreciate the offer of assistance. The distress signal was from one of our own vessel that was sent to this system for exploration. No doubt they became as curious as we are over this particular anomaly. While we appreciate the offer of assistance we do not necessarily require it. Surely you have more pressing matter to attend to and the Dominion would not wish to keep you from them."

While Captain Khev awaited a reply he received word from engineering that they're received some strange internal senor reading from an exhaust event. They called the bridge to see if they'd registered the same readings which they had. Worried that it might be some strange effect from the cloud, they sent a standard two-man engineering crew to the section of the ship to investigate to see if any damages had occurred.

While Captain Khev was speaking, Captain Erebus asked her Lieutenant, "Have we gotten any word back from the Council, yet?"

The Lieutenant checked his terminal quickly, and replied, "Yes, it seems that we have. Admiral Watanabe had ordered us to continue investigating the distress signal and the anomaly."

With a nod, Captain Erebus, said, "Very well," and then turned her attention onto replying to Captain Khev. Forcefully yet politely, she replied to him, "Captain, we thank you for your valuing of our time, but prior to this we had just completed our last mission and were homebound. It would be a great shame if we could not offer our aid when lives could be in stake. The well-being of all sapient beings is the interest of all civilized polities."

*The Black Dwarf Infiltrator successfully got on board the Dominion ship and immediately cloaked herself, using it to bypass most crew. Her mission was to make contact with the Dominion captain ASAP as both the Centauri and Dominion vessel were in grave danger. She snuck through the corridors, purposefully avoiding knocking out or otherwise harming any Dominion crew as she made her way to the bridge. As such she had to rely on pickpocketing guards of their keys and other non confrontational methods to get into the secured area of the bridge. After minutes of wandering through the ship she finally reached the bridge where she waited till she could identify the captain. After identifying the captain she approached him and decloaked behind him, close enough to have her presence felt but far enough away to avoid any panic reaction swings she might get from the captain*

Infiltrator: Captain Khev, I would speak with you...

To say that the Captain and crew of the Saber were surprised was an understatement. Immediately following her appearance on the bridge, internal sensors went crazy and security officials on the bridge quickly raised their side arms to the infiltrator. Captain Khev himself rose quickly from his seat and turned to face the intruder. Though alien, he was well enough aware of some ''fashions'' of Oredenreich military attire to know make an educated guess that this was an agent of the Ordenreich. He made motion to the bridge security to have their weapons put down.

"This is quite the unusual means of communications" said Captain Khev, "however, our people have a general understanding between us so I shall allow this transgression to go for now. Tell me, who are you, who sent you, and what business have to come to speak on?"

*The infiltrator showed no reaction to the guns being pulled on her, she half expected that to be the normal reaction from the crew. She began to speak, her voice distorted by the suit's automatic voice masker.*

Infiltrator: Captain, my name and rank are unimportant and classified. I am an Ordenreich Black Dwarf Infiltrator, part of the Black Hole Special Operations Legion operating under the Arcanii Network. I came from an Ordenreich stealth frigate that is currently hiding in the shadow of your ship. The Ordenreich considers you friends and we would do nothing to harm you or your crew but we must speak with you. I bear a message from the captain of the stealth frigate hidden here as communications are too risky for us. You and your ship as well as the Centauri are in grave danger Captain. This anomaly we all discovered has attracted the attention of the rogue organization you might remember as the Black Order. We know for a fact that they have stealth frigates hidden in this system and are currently lining up shots against yours and the Centauri ship. You essentially have a gun pointed to the back of your head so to speak sir.

The Centauri, too, became too acutely aware that something unusual was occurring. The sensor crew had noticed what seemed to be sensor ghosts on the edges of the system as well, and they noticed the energy emission that unmistakable indicated weapons systems powering up. Captain Erebus raised an eyebrow, and ordered the weapons crew to begin powering up their systems. Then, over an encrypted channel, she broadcast to the OrdenReich and Veridian vessels, "Excuse us, but it seems we are hardly alone in this system and are possibly being confronted with hostiles."

OOC: By all means Sacae, the Black Order is yours and I'd be more comfortable with you RPing them completely. I don't mind this side story at all and I'm sure I can find a way to tie it into my main story once we've let this play out a bit more and I see what you have planned with the black order ships.

IC:

Captain Khev was uncomfortable, more so that they were in the presence of an alien without environmental suits themselves, but that was more a social issue and could be avoided at the moment given the circumstances. The communique from the Centauri Captain came over and the communication's officer relayed the message to the Captain as they all stood for those few short moments at they took in what the operative had to say.

"It seems the Centauri may have detected your rogue agents" the Captain said finally, "we will talk in my office." The Captain then turned to his communication's officer. "Send a message to the Centauri Captain, tell her that while we are certain we can handle the distress signal on our own we have no problem with them remaining and offer assistance."

"An to their last transmission?" ask the officer.

"Tell them we did not receive their last transmission, static or something" said the Captain. "Until I know what we're dealing with I don't want these hidden ships tipped that we know they are out there by contacting the Centauri over com channels they are undoubtedly monitoring."

The Communication's officer nodded and the Captain then turned, showing the Sacaen to his office and offering her a seat while he took his own behind his desk.

"I can understand the need for secure communication but this borders on an intrusion of my ship's security" he said firmly. "I assure you that what you have to tell me about Black Order in this system  better be worth me overlooking that simply fact."
