Paradisus Novum, Veridia Prime...
Triumvir Flavian Sabinus, the Supreme Commander of Dominion forces, sat in his office overlooking the most recent military reports. Building a Dominion fleet was taking time, though good progress was being made. If all schedules were maintained, the Dominion would have an actual fleet of ships, or at least a formation and number resembling a fleet, by the end of the years. This was exciting the Supreme Commander who was eager to see the Dominion presence in the Galaxy grow. After all, the Galaxy was a wild wilderness that just teemed with Chaos, soaked in its disorganization and screaming for order. However, with as much progress as was being made there was still impatience in the heart of the Supreme Commander and his fellow Triumvir. Veridia Prime still lay vulnerable to Alien attack, though better than before their trek into the Galaxy, they still had much to improve. Sitting there and contemplating the need for hardware, Flavian only heard the knock at the door the second time around.
The doors slide open to his office on his command, allowing entrance for Ripanus Acidinus. A young official within the Dominion higher ranks, Acidinus was Vizier of the Fleets and was among the civilian leadership of the Dominion Miltiary.
"Dominar Laevinus sends his best wishes Triumvir" said Ripanus, "We have finished compiling that acquisitions report you requested and as you believed, we have found some inefficiencies. We had since corrected this and have filed a new report that, as you have no doubt already read, states that there is a significant number of Velons now available for fleet development."
"Yes I know" said Flavian. "I assumed the Dominar has also looked over my request regarding what should be done with this extra funding?"
"Yes Triumvir and he agrees. He believes buying technology from the Rheans government is what the Dominion needs to help propel our own efforts forward. He also shares your sentiments in that a Star Destroyer would look far better with a Dominion Seal painted on it." That last statement was said in jest as both men knew such a request would be swiftly rejected by the Rheans. "I am actually on my way now to the Rhean Embassy to speak with the Ambassador. We are hoping that if not through the Ambassador, that the Ambassador will be able to get us in touch with the proper authorities to speak about purchasing these LATs."
"That's LAATs" the Triumvir corrected. "They are troop transports from what we've gather on the limited information we were given on them in the volume of information provided to us by the Rhean government. While we have our own designs, this particular one is of significant interest to our scientists due to its apparent superior design."
"Of course Triumvir, I will discuss it with the Ambassador at once."
With that Vizier Acidinus left the Triumvirs office, soon taking a transport across the government district of the capital and towards the zone dedicated to foreign embassies. At present only two galactic powers held embassies on the planet so finding the Rhean embassy was not a difficult task nor was getting there as local traffic in this zone was relatively low. Veridians had yet gotten used to the idea of aliens among them. Their xenophobia was still high and there was a natural mistrust among the population of all aliens though it did help that only humans were allowed on the planet. Entering the building the Vizier approached the front desk.
"I am Ripanus Acidinus, Vizier of the Fleets for the Dominion of Veridia Prime. I am here to speak with the Ambassador..."
