OOC: General PT Discussion (Previously: Rethinking P'Taria & Scrapping Terraneus)

Make them your thieves, I mean to say, and have them flee into Ermarian. Maybe have those thieves try to steal the Orb of Thralni again? It lets you fly for a short period of time.

Anyway, I was thinking of having the Sith try to seize power on P'Taria as a way to secure themselves a remote location to hunker down while they try to hide. The powerful magic available there would be a major incentive for staying, as it would boost their arsenal of abilities. Darth Valefar is a native of the place, picked up from an island to the far north by a tiny Sith outpost there that generally tries to maintain its isolation.

Ok, I'm turning this thread into a general PT discussion thread because that's really what we've been using it for recently. Also, here's an idea for a RP - Emperor Thaerisk begins to worship the demonic necromancer god Kikubaaqudgah and ends up becoming an extremely powerful lich and necromancer though the sacrifice of thousands of innocents with notions of revenge towards Konosis and the rest of the world. Fun ensues?

No, but they'll definitely help him reduce the necessity of manpower by letting him become essentially a one man army.

I'm copacetic to that. Are you OK with the Sith attempting to seize power in P'Taria as a place to hunker down? They have so few soldiers left that they'd be outnumbered over a hundred to one by both Empires, though there is the fact that they have space and air forces as massive force multipliers to compensate.

I'm not completely sure if I like that idea. Firstly, wouldn't it make more sense for the Sith to just find some random uninhabited planet and avoid any drawing unwanted attention, and thus confrontations? Besides, tech-level crossover RPs really haven't gone particularly well, anyways, especially that one with the FT forces intervening on the MT/PMT planet for reasons I have completely forgotten. It would be even worse if it was FT forces on the PT planet. Granted, there doesn't need to be other FT forces beyond the Sith, but I still find that really iffy as it would remove much of the distinctiveness of P'Taria.

Oh, no. They've known about the place for some time. That's Darth Valefar's home planet and he's the current leader of the Triumvirate. Perhaps a more covert operation, then? It won't be a landing force en masse but a few secret agents that eventually slip up and reveal the location of their homeland. That would probably fit Valefar's MO better, anyway. He supposed to be waging a shadow war and going in guns blazing is contrary to that goal.

As long as it's of a fairly low key, it might be OK.

Studying magic will be what they're doing. They'll have some high tech devices hidden on them, like communicators so they can report back to Valefar and transmit scanned books to him.
